'Secrets of Lakewood' revealed at State of the City

The Lakewood State of the City annual luncheon always includes the premiere showing of the city's informative and humorous annual report video.

You can view the video here.

At this year's February 7 event at The Centre at Sycamore Plaza, the humorous theme of the Lakewood CityTV video was city "secrets," including several off-beat surprises, such as a former rock guitarist by night who now calls Lakewood City Hall home during the day (that would be Lakewood's new city manager, Thaddeus McCormack) and world-famous radio personality and Lakewood resident, Dr. Demento (who was featured in the video and introduced at the luncheon). Pictured above is Dr. Demento with Mayor Diane DuBois.

There was plenty of discussion and video footage of Lakewood's achievements over the past year, including park improvements, new businesses and colorful city events. Lakewood Sheriff's Captain James Wolak provided a public safety update and Mayor DuBois provided a forecast of the year ahead in Lakewood in her State of the City address. Her remarks can be viewed here.

The full event was recorded and will be available on the city's website on February 25.
