Tips are for kids (water saving tips)

Water Wise Tips for Kids” is one of many environmentally-conscious videos featured on Lakewood Online and run daily on Lakewood’s CityTV channel. This new segment covers what kids think about the drought and offers practical water-saving tips -- from washing full loads of laundry and dishes to showering smart.

The channel’s “Water-wise & Environmental Videos” collection has nearly two dozen segments. Programs include the in-depth “300 Gallons” outlining how families can effectively cut their “water budget” to new segments on how to install modern water-saving sprinklers, use water rebates and free water-wise gardening workshops being held in Lakewood this month and in August. Click to learn more about classes starting July 11.

Environmentally themed programs include numerous short tip segments. Others give insight into the city’s recycling program, explain ways to protect groundwater and profile the community’s annual Earth Walk event.

The channel plays Lakewood city council meetings live on the air and then re-airs them on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. and p.m. and includes “Before the Council,” an informative talk show about issues to be discussed at city council meetings precedes all showings.

CityTV's monthly news magazine show spotlights information and upcoming events. “Community Digest" shows daily at 3:30, 6:00 and 10:00 a.m. and p.m.
