Cooling centers are open in Lakewood

Lakewood has several cooling centers available for residents affected by the extreme heat.

You can visit them during normal operating hours (call for details).

Bloomfield Park
21420 Pioneer Blvd.

Boyar Park
6701 Del Amo Blvd.

Mayfair Park
5720 Clark Avenue

Palms Park and Community Center
12305 207th St.

Weingart Senior Center
(open for cooling center; no programs offered until late June)
5220 Oliva Ave.

If you plan to visit, bring your own entertainment such as books, magazines and cellular-enabled mobile devices, as TVs and Wi-Fi are not available at these parks.

In accordance with Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidelines effective June 15, 2021, regardless of vaccination status, everyone is required to wear a face covering in cooling centers.
