Farmers Market has food, crafts and fun on Saturdays
Many Lakewood residents yearned for a Farmers Market to come to town, and it did three years ago. So come on out and support your Lakewood Farmers Market!
It’s open on Saturdays, with new extended hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lakewood Center, just south of the El Torito restaurant.
The market now has up to 30 merchants, with some of the following items:
• Farm fresh fruits, vegetables and juices
• Unique jewelry, crafts and cosmetics
• Salvadoran and Mexican fresh foods, such as tamales and pupusas
• Mediterranean-style dips and hummus (Farmers Market manager and hummus merchant Haz Alqawaqneh is featured in the photo above. Haz’s hummus gets rave reviews on Yelp).
